Founded in 2016 by Geneva White and Eda Levenson, professionals with a decade-plus in youth development and arts education, SOW's work sits at the intersection of racial justice and financial equity for young BIPOC creatives. In 2024, I took part in their annual Portfolio Review Week, a program pairing mentors from their network with young creative professionals from their community.

I was paired with Breanna, whose practice centers experiential design grounded in meticulous research and community intentionality — work that spans the fashion and creative industries as well as their family's Caribbean restaurant in East New York. Over the week, I reviewed their portfolio and exchanged insights from our experiences navigating professional spaces through a creative and strategic lens. The mentorship culminated in the Summer SOWcial, where mentors and members gathered to celebrate and meet in person.
